TSA: Hawaii agent made mistake about breast pump Posted: 03 Mar 2012 08:33 AM PST From FOXNews.com/Associated Press LIHUE, Hawaii — The Transportation Security Administration in Hawaii says an agent was wrong to tell a nursing mother she couldn’t board an airplane with her breast pump. The TSA tells KITV the agent at the Kauai airport mistakenly told Amy Strand she could only bring the pump onboard if the bottles contained milk. She was allowed to board after pumping in a bathroom and showing the full bottles to the agent. Parents protest freedom-crushing food police who search lunch bags of schoolchildren Posted: 02 Mar 2012 09:37 AM PST By Ethan A. Huff, NatualNews In response to a recent incident in North Carolina where government food police confiscated a four-year-old’s homemade lunch and forced her to eat processed chicken nuggets, a group of parents recently held a “lunch-in” at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., to take a stand for food freedom. Organized by the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR), the lunch-in featured turkey and cheese sandwiches, potato chips, bananas, and apple juice boxes, which were the very same foods nabbed by the unidentified school agent. In case you missed it, an official from West Hoke Elementary School in Raeford, N.C., recently decided that one young student’s sack lunch did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines for a healthy meal. So he or she — the school still has not disclosed the identity of the agent — confiscated the girl’s lunch, and forced her to purchase chicken nuggets from the school’s cafeteria. New Tea Party Super PAC Rallies Grassroots Conservatives Pledges No Support for RINO Candidates Posted: 02 Mar 2012 09:30 AM PST The Patriot Super PAC launches today with a message for President Obama: The Tea Party is alive and well. “Despite what the mainstream media says, the Tea Party will be a huge difference-maker in the November elections,” said Tom Freiling, Executive Director. “This new Super PAC will serve as a vehicle for Tea Party citizens to fund and organize its efforts.” The independent-expenditure only committee has filed with the FEC and is already tapping Tea Party enthusiasts nationwide for a national mass media and grassroots campaign to defeat President Obama in November. The Patriot Super PAC will also be involved in targeted Congressional and Senatorial races, but it vows to remain independent of the Republican Party. Freiling explained, “We’re not about electing Republicans, but only conservatives who will stand firm against the growing tide of big-government, high-tax liberals.” To read more, visit: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2012/03/02/prweb9243923.DTL |
Tea party groups to release recall database Posted: 02 Mar 2012 09:26 AM PST By Jason Stein of the Journal Sentinel Madison — Tea party groups say they will be releasing a searchable database of the recall petitions against Gov. Scott Walker and four GOP senators. The Verify the Recall effort said in a statement that it is in the "final stages" of testing the program. It "will become a publicly accessible, online, searchable database of all recall signatures submitted in the Wisconsin gubernatorial and state senator recalls," the group said in a statement. The group said it would allow individuals who did not sign a recall petition to check and see if their name is listed as having signed. The group said it would also remove people’s addresses from the list if they have certain safety concerns regarding the release of that information. Tea Party ready to take on Occupy Posted: 01 Mar 2012 08:35 AM PST FORT WAYNE, Ind. – On Wednesday, NewsChannel 15 will bring you a first-of-its-kind local TV broadcast titled Focus 15: Occupy vs. Tea Party. It will be a chance for local leaders affiliated with the two national movements to square off in a face-to-face forum. Local Tea Party leaders are eagerly anticipating the opportunity. The Fort Wayne Tea Party movement started with an Allen County Courthouse square rally in the spring of 2009 featuring former U.N. ambassador Alan Keyes. The organizer of that rally was a local FedEx driver, Emery McClendon. “The biggest problem I think that we have is people are not aware anymore of what the government’s role is,” McClendon told NewsChannel 15 this month. According to McClendon and fellow Tea Party leader Ric Runestad, who runs his own insurance business, our country’s founders intended for the national government to be limited in scope, size, and power. The problem, they said, is that both major parties have abandoned that vision, opting instead to grow government to gluttonous levels and borrow money at a breakneck pace.
