Breitbart Influential to Tea Party Members Posted: 01 Mar 2012 07:20 PM PST By Gina Tenorio, LomaLindaPatch In September of 2011, Andrew Breitbart brought his fiery rhetoric to a receptive crowd of more than 500 people, mostly Tea Party Patriots, at the University of Redlands. He was greeted with enthusiasm. So it was a great shock to many to learnthat Breitbart, a crusader for conservative causes and values, died overnight as he walked near his Los Angeles home, according to the Associated Press. "He was so passionate and energetic," said Phillip Naman, a member of the Redlands Tea Party Patriots and co-organizer of the Sept. 15 Breitbart event at U of R. "He didn't look sick at all." The few times he did speak to him, Naman said Breitbart was always on the go. "He was always doing two or three things at once. He was never resting, never settling down." Age 43 is really young, Naman said. "God has given us all X number of days — that's it," Naman said. "We're here to serve Him until that point in time." The TSA Is Coming To A Highway Near You Posted: 01 Mar 2012 07:17 PM PST By Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Forbes One of the great honors of my service to Tennessee is having the opportunity to represent Ft. Campbell which is home to the storied 101st Airborne, the 5th Special Forces Group and the Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment which piloted Navy SEAL Team Six during the raid on Osama Bin Laden. Each soldier who calls Ft. Campbell home has gone through some of the most intensive training on the planet which pushed their minds and bodies to their physical limits. In the end, those who make the cut have earned the right to be part of our United States military, are honored to wear its uniform, and are serving on the frontlines in the fight against global terrorism. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for our nation's Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) who Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano contends are our nation's last line of defense in fighting domestic terrorism. Unlike "hell week" which faces potential Navy SEALs, becoming a TSO requires a basic level of classroom and on the job training. In many cases this rigorous training is less severe than the requirements of becoming a security guard in most states. Believe it or not, only 7 years ago, TSOs went by a more deserving title, "airport security screeners." At the time, their title and on the job appearance consisted of a white shirt and black pants. This was fitting because airport security screening is exactly what's required of the position. However, this is no longer the case. Killing babies no different from abortion, experts say Posted: 01 Mar 2012 07:14 PM PST By Stephen Adams, The Telegraph Parents should be allowed to have their newborn babies killed because they are "morally irrelevant" and ending their lives is no different to abortion, a group of medical ethicists linked to Oxford University has argued. The article, published in the Journal of Medical Ethics, says newborn babies are not "actual persons" and do not have a "moral right to life". The academics also argue that parents should be able to have their baby killed if it turns out to be disabled when it is born. The journal's editor, Prof Julian Savulescu, director of the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, said the article’s authors had received death threats since publishing the article. He said those who made abusive and threatening posts about the study were "fanatics opposed to the very values of a liberal society". The article, entitled "After-birth abortion: Why should the baby live?", was written by two of Prof Savulescu's former associates, Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva. They argued: "The moral status of an infant is equivalent to that of a fetus in the sense that both lack those properties that justify the attribution of a right to life to an individual."
